Trio reports assay results from American Assay Labs of Reno,
Nevada, relating to its 2,200 ft, nine-hole RC drill program, conducted
in December 2004 on its Empire Mine property, in central Idaho. Holes
TRC04-5, TRC04-6 and TRC04-9 were drilled in the AP Pit area, some 650
feet south of previously announced core hole TDD04-1 which bottomed in
13.5% copper. All holes are vertical; a location map is posted on the
company's web site.
Gold and silver assays for core hole TDD04-1 were conducted by Kappes Cassiday & Associates (KCA) of Reno, Nevada.
All RC samples were assayed by 2-acid dissolution with ICP
analysis, checked by AAS. KCA's analyses were by ¡°one assay-ton¡± fire
assay, with gravimetric finish, at their Florin Lab.

* This interval includes 20' of void space (old mine workings).
The copper mineralization at the Empire Mine is hosted by
garnet-diopside skarn that developed at the contact between limestone
and a feldspar porphyry intrusion. Copper mineralization drilled to
date occurs preferentially in a green ¡°exoskarn¡± (limestone-derived),
whereas gold is more closely associated with brown ¡°endoskarn¡±
(porphyry-derived). Thicknesses are considered to be near true.
Trio's drill program in the AP Pit area was successful in
confirming considerable thicknesses and valuable grades of copper,
accompanied by significant amounts of gold and silver.
Trio plans to evaluate a potential
solvent-extraction/electrowinning (SX-EW) operation, coupled with
milling processes, for this project. Jim Golden P.Eng, independent
consultant to Trio, states that typical mine cutoff grades for similar
operations would be in the order of 0.1% copper, 0.2% zinc, 0.35 gm/T
gold, and 3.5 gm/T silver (where a 1.0% assay represents 20 pounds of
metal per ton). Trio's drill program has returned grades well above
these levels.
The company plans to continue drilling in 2005 in order to expand the mineralization of the area.
The drill program was implemented and supervised by Philip van
Angeren P.Geol., director of Trio Gold Corp., and a ¡°qualified
person¡± under National Instrument 43-101 guidelines. This news release
has been prepared by Mr. van Angeren.
